Sound issues after Sleep mode

I was about to take an Image, so I could do that.

Another question pops in my mind before I proceed, can I update that Driver once installed, or check things out first? And do I use the Update Driver feature in Device Manager, or a third party one?

I've noticed before when I use that build-in Update mechanisme that most of the times there are no updates, yet when I use Driver Booster or whatever they always seem to find Driver updates...

Scanned on the HP site for Drivers matching my machine, but despite running multiple scans I didn't find any.

Although HP says "HP is compiling your results. This could take up to 3 minutes, depending on your computer and connection speed. Thank you for your patience." I let the scan run for half an hour, several ones, and also scanned specifically on my country but they all yielded no results. I guess Vista is pretty old hence no support for it...

Yes I did a Repair Install of Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade a couple of months ago.
If my memory serves me well it didn't solve my issue with the Sound Drivers disappearing after Sleep mode.

To come back to a previous tip you gave me, pertaining Driver Store Explorer.
I just noticed that there are 2 Realtek files with the same name, only the Version # & Date differ, slightly.



"Besturing van geluid, video en spelletjes" = Driver of sound, video and games.

Would it be safe to delete the highlighted lower one (Version #) / older one (Date)?
I have reservations about deleting the older one because after I un- & installed that Driver again I also did an update, so that slightly older file could be the original, and the new one the actual update. Dunno...

And while we're at this subject of Driver Store Explorer, you asked me previously to delete a file there, and I presume this deletes the .INF file of my Sound Driver in C:\Windows\System32\drivers right?!

But since I use a 64 bit couldn't it be that the same file is also stored in C:\Windows\SysWOW64\drivers?

This could explain why Windows is still updating a Driver although the Reg & GP Editor prevent such a download.
It must get that file from somewhere, no?!

Ok, so now I exported my 3rd party Drivers using PS:
Export-WindowsDriver -Online -Destination e:\drivers

I changed the Drive letter to "e", which is the device I want to store it on, and I also cut & pasted that backup folder to another folder on the same partition. Simply because I have a folder named Drivers buried a bit deeper, namely;
E:\HP Programmas\Disk Tools en Drivers\Drivers\Backup 3rd party Drivers

If I have to Import those Drivers again is this the correct PS script?
Import-WindowsDriver -Online -Destination E:\HP Programmas\Disk Tools en Drivers\Drivers\Backup 3rd party Drivers
