Not hearing Line In Audio in Windows 10 Home (DELL XPS 15 9570 Laptop)

Greetings, Windows 10 Community & Admins:

Here's my issue: just got a brand-new DELL XPS 15 9570 with Windows 10 HOME 64-bit. I'm using SONY VEGAS PRO 11 to record some original music via running a CASIO SA-76 keyboard into the combination headphone/line in jack by way of a patch cord. While I can see the meters in VEGAS registering the audio, I can't actually hear it in my ActivBuds S520 Bluetooth headphones. Also, in the MaxxAudioPro window, I keep seeing the, "Recording Device is not available" message, the audio cord button is greyed out, and there's no indication that the audio signal is registering there. How do I fix this? Do I need to uninstall MaxxAudioPro and use another audio software? I've downloaded and installed all required Windows updates (according to the system notifications window), as well as required drivers. The laptop is fine, as is the SONY VEGAS PRO editing software. Looking forward to hearing back as I need to create some music for a video project I'll be editing soon. Thank you so much.

    Respectfully,

Hi ptah0921. Welcome to the TenForums@Ptah0921

First right click speaker in Notification area (Systray), then open Sound settings, then click on Sound Control Panel.

Click on Recording tab, click once on Input source, then properties, then listen tab. Should be a box you can check mark to listen to device.

    As to MaxxAudioPro

Right click in Notification area, Open Sound settings, at the bottom of the right hand side "Advance Sound Options". Check out what you have set for the Maxx app.

As your recording is more advance it might take some fiddling, like under the listen tab it says use default but you have the ActivBuds.

I had a similar problem recently with just a simple Headset change, the Mic not registering. Same error message "Recording device is not available".

The solution was to use the Windows troubleshooter and it was a simple as that.
No idea what it did, but I now have in the Device Manager the Microphone and Stereo Mix added to the Audio Inputs and outputs.

Settings > System > Sound > Scroll down to the Input Device, select whatever you require there and then the "!Troubleshoot" button.
    Go through the various dialogues.

Depending on your hardware, you might find (when fixed) that there is a slight delay when monitoring via the pc. If you're not multi tracking, you might find direct monitoring via the Casio (before the signal gets to the pc) preferable. Just a few ms 'out' can make it really hard to play in time.
