Realtek RAVBg64 running 4 times simultaneously

    Hi group,

Haven't been on here in months - that's usually a good sign.
I have a Dell laptop that had the Realtek Audio card preinstalled, and I've never had any issues with it. The laptop is 3 years old.

I recently reinstalled Windows - Is it just me, or do several of you end up doing a new Windows 10 install about every year or two??

Anyway, laptop is crawling and it gets a lot less attention than my desktop. But today I looked at Process Explorer and noticed that a Realtek program (The SAME Program) was listed 4 times. Maybe this is normal, but I've never noticed it before so I wonder if Windows Reinstall did something/didn't do something.

    Pic to show my situation.

    Thanks for any help.

Other than saying others report this e.g.
Solved: Realtek HD Audio Background Process - Multiple Instances On Startup - Lenovo Community
multiple instances of ravbg64.exe - Microsoft Community

it's not yet clear to me why there may be several instances.

On my laptop I only have RAVCpl64.exe running.

(I've not reinstalled Win 10 since first installing build 1511, I think it was...)

Thanks for the reply, and sorry I'm just now saying Thanks. I'm supposed to get email when I get replies, but something must be broken.....
Your referral links were quite helpful, at least they're worth trying.
