Only Getting Audio from Wireless Speaker

Hello, I'm facing an issue with the audio on my laptop, but I don't know where else I can ask for help before sending it to the service center. Wish to try my luck here.

27/02 - Connected my laptop to a wireless speaker (Sony Wireless Speaker SRS-XB10) via Bluetooth.

28/02 - There's no audio coming out of the internal speakers and my headphones. Tried the wireless speaker and it's the only device that could still produce sound! I'm not sure if the issue occurred because of the wireless speaker or some other unknown reason. Tried Windows troubleshooting, checked all my sound settings and everything was fine. Then, I tried to update/uninstall/reinstall Realtek(R) Audio in Device Manager but it didn't work. In the end, I decided to get a clean install of Windows 10 with Media Creation Tool. After reinstalling Windows 10, still no audio and this is the current status of my audio driver. Realtek(R) Audio is nowhere to be seen.

I tried to download and install the Realtek audio driver from Asus but I can't find any setup.exe in the unzipped file. I seriously have clue to install the driver.

    1) Show file extensions in File Explorer.
View Tab > Tick box for file name extensions.
That will make it all much easier to ID file type.

    2) In your unZIPped file, run InstallPackage.bat

    It might be InstallPackage_manual.bat
Which is probably the same thing with manual choices at a guess.

Tried it. It doesn't work. There's a text document in the unzipped folder. It says this:

    Vendor:Realtek
    Category:Audio
    Module:ALC269

Ok, I've found my savior. Tried a few driver updater tools that I found online and Snappy Driver Installer Origin is the only one that works and helps me to install the right audio driver!!! Thanks a lot to johngalt from this thread.

Realtek Audio Console REQUIRES a Realtek HD (UAD) Driver!! - Windows 10 Forums

Interesting - I was massively upset when the included Windows drivers in 1803 completely removed my own RealTek drivers that included the RealTek HD Audio manager, which has everything that you show in in that screenshot plus a lot more, including a tab for room correction, assigning the default of output and input audio, tabs for the different types of output and input, and the ability to tie front panel and rear panel jacks or let them run independently.

Luckily, I found Snappy Driver Installer Origin, which has me back with the RHDAM on version 8552. Ever since installing one of the IP builds just prior to 1803, I could get none of the Micro$oft catalog drivers to install and allow install of the RHDAM to work, but sometime in July / August it all started working again (after a clean install). Since then RHDAM has been working, and even with my latest clean install it is still there.

I think I'll stick with it for now - but when my hardware does, finally, get replaced, I might give the 'WinX' version a shot.

Thanks for the heads up, Ed!

If that is the case tell ASUS about it. Either that or you are advertising products.

Yes, I'd got in touch with 4 Asus customer service agents, one through calling, one through email and another two through online chat but none of their suggestions helped to solve my problem. That's why I turned to this forum, in hope of getting some help. In the end, I managed to get it by digging around old threads and I hope another user with a similar problem can find a potential solution somewhere in this forum too in the future. So, I need to say I'm not advertising any products. If you need proof of my dilemma, I can give you but I don't see such a need. And yes, I will tell Asus about it. Just hope that they will take the issue seriously and find a way to solve the 'lack of installer for audio driver' issue. Lastly, I'm glad this forum has provided a platform for people like me to voice out our problems. Thank you very much. :)
