No sound from my 2 monitors

Hi

Bought and installed myself new HP Pavilion Core i7 PC 590-p0062a with two Philips 243V monitors. 1x monitor to HDMI and other to VGA. I can not get any sound at all. Have checked everything, including troubleshooting, testing but it all comes up as good. I only have one output device option to select which is PHL 243V7 (Inter(R) Display Audio). There is a Speakers icon with a red arrow pointing down but can not select it at all. Can you help please. Robert

Intel Dispaly Audio device means that sound is redirected to your monitors, your HDMI and VGA displays. If the monitors do not have speakers, naturally there will be no sound.

Your HP device uses Realtek audio device. You should be able to change the sound device in Windows Settings. Open Settings app, select System, select Sound, and select Realtek as output device, as shown in screenshot. Please notice, as my HP laptop used to get the screenshot uses a Conexant audio device, the screenshot does show it instead of Realtec you should see and choose in Settings:

The problem is that I do not have the option to select Realtek as all I have to choose from is PHL 243V7 (Inter(R) Display Audio).

Please open Device Manager (right click Start, select Device Manager), expand Sound, video and game controllollers. Take a screenshot of it and post here.

Philips have confirmed that the model I bought do not come with speakers ##@@###.

I have bought a set of speakers moderately priced, connected it and I finally have sound.
