CD Image APE + CUE to FLAC and split into tracks Anybody

    Hi sound / Audio Gurus

Tidying up and re-organising around 2 TB of music collection -- I want end result to be mainly flac but have also some 320 kbs mp3's.

I have a load of CD images as single .ape + .cue files.
I can convert the .ape to .flac easily enough (Linux ffmpeg does easily enough)

What I want next is something that can split the generated .flac file into tracks -- preferably some Windows GUI application

so here's the first stage ape to flac (and it plays fine with vlc etc)

from command : (you don't need to be root actually to run it BTW)

    [root@hestur 002]# ffmpeg -i inputaudio.ape outputaudio.flac
ffmpeg version 2.8.15 Copyright (c) 2000-2018 the FFmpeg developers
built with gcc 4.8.5 (GCC) 20150623 (Red Hat 4.8.5-28)

you get your flac file :

Now I need to split the .flac file into tracks. Any ideas -- I don't want any of those online uploads or some of those sneakerware "conversion programs" that always ask you to "go pro" i.e pay or come riddled with advertisements.

    Cheers

    Download Medieval CUE Splitter 1.2
Medieval CUE Splitter for Windows 10 free download on 10 App Store
    - used that long ago (yes, it's 'mediaeval'..)

Here it is on Win 10:

    - just ran it- there's a v2 now as a UWP

    Hi there
    @dalchina

Thanks that worked (don't like the UWP version - so I used the original one.

    Marked thread as solved.

I've used cue tools in the past on windows but sometimes it gives error on W10 in cue files with "Indexes must be in chronological order) so I've been converting to flac in Linux via ffmpeg without problems --- the issue getting the cue file to split properly was the problem -- need convoluted bash script so was looking for an easy GUI

It worked fine on a test cue file which wouldn't work properly in cuetools and plays without issue.

If you used Foobar2000 as your music player you could easily do the entire process with just that. (I believe a plugin is needed to work with ape).

The process would go something like, drag .cue into playlist window, select all tracks, select convert, choose output options (flac/bit depth/sample rate/name format/destination)
