Is there anyway to turn that sound off? Who wants to hear that, I want to hear the video, not a 1 second reverberating sound blurb over the speakers which overrides the video sound track. I have been finding it quite an annoying extra noise.
Sorry, I don't know of any way to do that as I've never heard anything like that. How are you adjusting the volume? And do you experience the same thing if playing a mp3 file or when a video is not playing, for example?
How are you playing it? From a file? On line?

following your idea, the sound is called system notification, but honestly who wants to hear that when adjusting the volume? It is distractingly annoying.
Ah, ok, can confirm that happens on mine - with no video playing.
This is why I've not noticed it- I use a 3rd party utility which means I control volume by hovering over the taskbar and scrolling. Otherwise I could use dedicated keyboard keys.
You could disable the particular sound in Sounds (screenshot above)
What are you using to control the sound?
How about using only mouse wheel (if exists)?
Click on taskbar speaker, lead cursor onto slider and use mouse wheel.
Or else, you may go to "Windows Default" sounds by right clicking on taskbar speaker -> Sounds / Sounds tab and select "(None)" for "Default Beep" sound,
keeping in mind that some other warning sounds are going to be affected too.

Hi, I've used a couple of things over the years- currently Volume2 - rather neat freeware with more options than you'd expect.

Note middle button mute too.
Another possibility is Volumouse, with options for brightness too.
