ASIO Latency help

Latency is the bane of many. I don't have the spec's for the 2i2 but if you can achieve around 4 ms recording latency that is probably the best you can do with that unit. I would use 44.1Khz not 48Khz, as 48Khz is use by those creating audio to sync with video. I had a Focusrite 6i6 gen 2 and never got below that with the unit. My main recording interface is high $$ MOTU 896Mk3 Hybrid and my latency as reported by Sonar is shown below.

See I've always had very good results using 44100hz at around 64 - 128 Sample rate, with around 3.9ms (shown on reaper top right) Going to try a few riffs on there using that and will report back later on

Hmm, sounds unfortunate. Not heard of any such issue with previous versions. Have you reported this on Resplendence's site?
No, I have not done that. I just uninstalled my copy of the software and then searched for driver left-overs. As I said earlier it is very common when uninstalling software needing a driver. the driver is not taking part of the uninstalling process.

It is to much hassle to report software that does not do a proper job when removed. I've seen that for all versions of Windows since version 3.1!

Many people just do a fresh install of Windows periodically to avoid these problems. I don't do that because I have many programs on my systems that take a long time to tweak. For example. last year I retired a Windows 2000 system that has been running periodically since 2002 without doing a reinstall, only maintenance. It was running as smooth as i did when I installed it in 2002. That computer had about 500 programs, tweaked to my liking.
That said. I don't refresh my systems, I maintain them ;-)

the program (latest version 6.70) froze totally!
It was that I was first thinking of.

    Hi again!
Does Geek Uninstaller also remove driver left-overs?

Think similar to e.g. Revo uninstaller- both can do scans of leftovers. If the leftovers are detected, then hopefully they will be flagged and removed.

snickie&Dalchina: Can you please explain, which value have your posts in this thread placed in Sound & audio section and dedicated to sound latency? Thanks.

Hey guys, just reporting back, I tried Reaper earlier with some new settings ( Buffer Size 64 and 44100Hz ) and get around 2.9ms delay which is great.

Great news; afaik 3 msec is good latency value for playing guitar.
