I fixed this issue without the need for this driver.
    Thank you all.

    Audio Driver troubles

Greeting, I have made an account in hopes I will get some guidance here.
Recently I had to change my motherboard due to some issues and I got the same mark and model but I noticed something was different with the audio along with some mic issues.
That's when I realised my driver is now some High definition audio by Microsoft and not Realtek HDA as it was on the other motherboard. I even still have Realtek HD Audio Manger files but hey won't execute.

Which is why I came here. I want to install Realtek again but not sure which one should I go for.

per comment I made back about 4 weeks ago in the Latest Realtek HDA drivers thread.

I wouldn't recommend using the script found on the 1st post in this thread on certain Dell Latitude/Optiplex/Precision series machines as there was someone who owned a specific Dell Latitude computer using Realtek HDA, attempted to install an FF06 HDA driver but maxxaudio did not work on there, only the Realtek audio driver by itself. these specific machines require the Dell specific Realtek HDA drivers for full functionality, not the FF06 HDA drivers.

now for those using recent Dell XPS models like 9360, 9370 or 9560, Dell had published a customized v6.0.1.8622 A14 driver in late March that bundles the Intel HDA SST driver for Realtek SST audio, Realtek ASIO and Waves Maxxaudio Pro 7 software. using newer FF06 HDA drivers may work on these XPS models

Does anyone here have any info on the naming conventions for the Dell HDA drivers AlanFox2000 hosts on his github site?
I am trying to figure out what the designations following the xxxx_UAD_Dell_ (in green below) refer to:

    8683_UAD_Dell_SST4001.01_2427.02_MA80_193_269_4070_WHQL_MUP.zip
    8683_UAD_Dell_SST2427.02_MA80_165_266_4070_WHQL_MUP.zip
    8666_UAD_Dell_SST2427.02_MA80_162_264_4070_WHQL_MUP.zip
    8666_UAD_Dell_MA80_162_264_4070_WHQL_MUP.zip
    8656_UAD_Dell_MA80_82_263_4070_WHQL_MUP.zip
    8656_UAD_Dell_Nahimic_1300_1590_WHQL_MUP.zip
    8656_UAD_Dell_MA75_81_259_WHQL_MUP.zip
    8656_UAD_Dell_SST2427.02_MA80_82_263_4070_WHQL_MUP.zip
    8656_UAD_Dell_SST2427.02_Nahimic_1300_1590_WHQL_MUP.zip

Can anybody help decode the Dell driver filenames above?

The FF06 v8656 and v8648 generic drivers have worked for me on my Dell XPS 8920, as it shipped with Waves Maxx integration, but I am wondering if one of the Dell driver sets might be a better fit to my HW:

    (HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0899&SUBSYS_102807DC&REV_1000, realtek ALC899)

those are UAD drivers (not the traditional HDA drivers), mta3006 - meant to be used on newer Dell machines (newer than XPS 8920). UAD drivers may or may not work on your XPS 8920. stick to using latest FF06 HDA (nonUAD) driver.

    MA75 = maxxaudio 7.5, MA80 = maxxaudio 8.0, SST = smart sound technology (used on certain laptops like XPS 13 9360/9370, XPS 15 9560)
Dell_Nahimic = mostly used on Dell Alienware series that include Alienware Sound Center (the creator of that one is A-volute who also developed Nahimic audio enhancer)

    -----

unrelated note, for Realtek HD audio devices using the following hardware device IDs:
    HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0302
    HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0303

DEV_0302 & DEV_0303 are only mentioned in the HDXRT.inf file of any UAD driver, and are not listed (aka. not supported) in the HDXRT.inf file of any HDA FFxx (nonUAD) driver. therefore UAD drivers must be used on Realtek audio hardware that contain hardware IDs beginning with either DEV_0302 or DEV_0303.

Thanks for the response, erpster - alanfox2000 himself replied:

I confirmed by testing that UAD drivers do not work on my 8920, and I really cannot tell any difference in sound quality with any of the more advanced 'generic' FFxx drivers, so I will be sticking with whatever Dell puts up for my Service Tag.

for those using Dell Latitude 7290, 7390 or 7490 laptops (or even certain Dell Precision laptop models like 7520/7720 or certain Dell Optiplex desktop PCs like 7050/7450), Dell released a Realtek v6.0.1.8622 A20 HDA + Maxxaudio driver near the end of May 2019. includes the Maxxaudio desktop non-uwp app, IntelHDASST driver; INF files included are HDAADC.inf, HDAADCMAX8.inf (for 32bit Windows) and HDXADC.inf, HDXADCMAX8.inf & HDXADCMAX8S.inf (for 64bit Windows)

edit 7/4: and for those using certain ASUS X99/X99-A/X99-E Series motherboards with DTS Ultra PC II support [check the ASUS web site for the Audio specs of your X99 board], latest FF05 based HDA WHQL driver is 8158 (from mid-May 2017). FF05 includes the DTSU2PAuSrv32.exe, DTSU2PGFX32.dll, DTSU2PLFX32.dll & DTSU2PREC32.dll files (for 32bit Windows) and the DTSU2PAuSrv64.exe, DTSU2PLFX64.dll & DTSU2PREC64.dll files (for 64bit Windows)
