    Hi KB.
I'm very sorry for the late reply but, being busy with other threads I must have missed your post.
So we're back to sq1, regarding the type of driver. It's official now, that you must use the generic one FF00.
As for the version, take a look here and the subsequent replies from the guys, which clearly show that the best version so far, is 8648.
I did install it this morning myself and my sound test showed the exact same thing. Excellent version, well balanced sound, good bass. So I would also recommend it!
    Take care mate.
No problem at all D. it seems, I am not getting Ten Forums notifications all the time either....got this one just now but see you tagged me in the other Thread too now....

I had seen on the other thread that 8648 is now considered the best....was going to try it today too, once I saw everyone was happy with it..... going to try FF0C though as I read on Laptop2Go is is best for Sonic Studio which in earlier Versions my Motherboard Supported but it doesn't work with FF00 . ( I found Sonic inside the Official Driver from Asus, though it isn't mentioned ad a feature, it did work with those Drivers. (7848?)

But of Course :) .... how else would someone ask for help .....though I suspect the words Please and Thanks may no longer be in a Teenager's vocabulary :)

The Original Drivers from the Asus for my X99A-II let me use DTS Studio and DTS Neo , the second set of Official Drivers came with Sonic Studio 2 and that also worked , but no Driver since has allow DTS Studio or Sonic Studio 2 to work, Sonic won't even install with the current Driver, I can install the DTS studio Plugin but it doesn't function, although it appears in RT Manager. Without the Plugin run manually the Tab is there but empty.

Just thought I'd give it FF0C a shot, after the Tip on LT2Go , though that may have related more to Laptops , I'm not sure? but am also not sure it is worth all the fuss either :)

You need to nuke everything to do with Realtek Audio to do a clean install of it.
See my post here: Realtek Audio Console REQUIRES a Realtek HD (UAD) Driver!! - Page 11 - Windows 10 Forums

Also after uninstalling delete this key in Regedit: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Realtek\Audio

The go ahead and get the ROG Realtek UAD driver here: [DRIVERS] Realtek HD Audio (UAD)

Download the second one where it says Realtek HD Audio Drivers with Realtek Audio Control(the first one has only the Realtek Audio Console and not Sonic Suite 3).

If you don't have any of the Drivers above you should Use the Generic Driver which is FF00 and ALL realtek Chips will have the Basic functions at least. With Github they all come in one package and you can delete the others before running the Setup.exe file in the FF00/FF10 Folder.
actually you were wrong on that one, Kbird. That GA-Z270X-Gaming 9 (rev. 1.0) board that Geosammy had before does not use any Realtek audio drivers at all. It uses Creative® Sound Core 3D chip (noted in the specs) which uses a completely different set of audio drivers made by Creative, not Realtek. Most Z270x boards from gigabyte use Realtek audio chips but a few others (like Gaming 8 & Gaming 9) use Creative.

Thanks , I did assume it was the Realtek Creative Integration he had , but there also seemed to be some confusion on what MB he actually was using too.... I'll edit the post if I can find it again.(done)

Not sure how he was getting sound at all with RT Drivers? if they are Creative only as it would seem?

BIG Thanks for the Follow Up Cliff , so you think I should abandon HDA and go UAD? Use DDU?

I was thinking my Board maybe on the cusp of when UAD drivers 1st came out, and I shouldn't try it as ASUS has not released any for it, and it is not "officially" a ROG Board, though the Model above the X99 Strix was I believe ( it wasn't available locally when I did my build) but I suspect the Driver package is the same in some areas. The Drivers (7848) with Sonic 2 are actually labelled as a TUF series Driver.

You're about to abandon the unfortunate ones, stuck with the legacy HDA drivers?
    Shame on you KB.....

I sincerely hope, that you get it to work, mate. Let us know of the outcome!

well I had no plans too , till Cliff posted above ...... I have read UAD is ALOT of hassle on Older Boards ...and I'm not sure of any advantages especially if my MB can't use Sonic etc anyway....
