Cos you were at GitHUB looking at a long list of Files you said and I even said GITHUB Package....

Check post above , you may have UAD Drivers in which case this Thread is not for you....
    Right, ok sorry about that.

    By the way...
I had to change out the motherboard.
Due to issues with the GA-Z270X-Gaming 9 (rev. 1.0), that had to be sent back for RMA.
I'm now using my older GA-Z170-HD3 (rev. 1.0) board.

I updated my system specs as well.

Well that will change things cos the AudioSetup Guide for the Z270x says you have HDA....mb_manual_200series-audio.pdf

    gotta go sorry....

GA-Z170-HD3 (rev. 1.0) board appears to have had the HDA 1st (7277 (same as mine) but then foe Win10 1809 they changed it to UAD ...you can tell by the File size....30mb vs 250+mb.

Yes and that's the driver I downloaded and installed yesterday.

    It's working fine, so far.
Perhaps I'm making more out of this than is necessary.
However, this has always been a very frustrating process for me.

    Thanks for your assistance.

If you don't like 8642 try 8633 from the same Alan Fox page ...look for the one with Creative in the name...under MSI I think .

I have to point out that the Realtek UAD drivers are usually OEM specific or HWID specific (meaning supporting certain hardware IDs). On few occasions, there would be a "generic" UAD driver like 8614 (that contains both HDXRT.inf and HDX_GenericExt_RTK.inf files that allow installation on virtually any Realtek audio chipset)

I still use 8639 UAD Gigabyte driver on my Gigabyte board because the hardware ID "HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0892&SUBSYS_1458A182" is mentioned in that specific driver
