is this your computer, OldMX? (it's seems HWID "HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0662&SUBSYS_17AA3084" was listed in the HDXLC.inf file in very old versions of the HDA driver like v6.0.1.5874 & v6.0.1.6353 and is no longer listed in the HDXLC.inf file in the 6.0.1.7xxx & 6.0.1.8xxx HDA driver versions)

try the generic 6.0.8924.1 FF00 HDA driver from Lenovo which includes the HDXRT.inf file (and is also a security bug fix that resolves a Realtek HD audio driver vulnerability as described in Lenovo security bulletin LEN-30506).

    you're welcome, OldMX.

actually it was the v6.0.1.6343 (R2.59) & v6.0.1.6353 versions that last had support for HWID "HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0662&SUBSYS_17AA3084" in the HDXLC.inf file before that INF file got an overhaul in the v6.0.1.6363 (R2.60) version, so that "17AA3084" SUBSYS ID was removed starting with the 6363 version. from v6363 & later use the generic HDXRT.inf file to install the Realtek HDA driver.

    ---

just in - generic 6.0.8967.1 FF03 HDA driver from Nahimic support. (at long last an updated FF03 HDA driver )

    Hi everyone,

I need a little bit of help with my old Gigabyte x58a-UD3r rev 1 system. I've been using Pal1000's generic driver ever since the shift to UAD but would like to see if there are any official drivers I can use and also take advantage of the Realtek Console, I've never been able to use that. Anyway here's my ps log.

    Device HWID: HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0889&SUBSYS_1458A022&REV_1000
    Audio CODEC: ALC889

    Realtek Driver Version: 6.0.8904.1 (UAD)
    Proposed UAD driver : -
INF needed to install : hdxrt.inf

Would prefer to use UAD. Thank you.

    yes you can, carlcapone

HWID "HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0889&SUBSYS_1458A022" is listed in the HDXGigabyte.INF file of the UAD driver - download the official v6.0.8945.1 Realtek UAD Gigabyte driver from Gigabyte's web site. uninstall pal1000's UAD 8904 driver completely, reboot and install the UAD Gigabyte driver and reboot again for the new driver to take effect - then open MS store and look for Reatlek Audio Console & download it.

btw, I'm also using a Realtek UAD driver (not the unofficial one from pal1000) on my Gigabyte board (GA-78LMT-USB3 R2) because the HWID for it is also offically supported.

I skim through entire thread in hoping to find a solution to audio issue with my dell laptop. From my understanding of the comments,

for those using Dell Latitude 7290, 7390 or 7490 laptops (or even certain Dell Precision laptop models like 7520/7720 or certain Dell Optiplex desktop PCs like 7050/7450), Dell released a Realtek v6.0.1.8622 A20 HDA + Maxxaudio driver near the end of May 2019. includes the Maxxaudio desktop non-uwp app, IntelHDASST driver; INF files included are HDAADC.inf, HDAADCMAX8.inf (for 32bit Windows) and HDXADC.inf, HDXADCMAX8.inf & HDXADCMAX8S.inf (for 64bit Windows)
I have gathered the fact that I need to retrieve from dell specific version, In this particular instance, I would have no use to run the script in order to find and use the HDA. On the top, it didn't mention Inspirion laptop, considering its dell, I would have to follow same process, Am i right?

    Following Info of Realtek
    Driver version " 6.0.1.8642

    HWIDS HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0225&SUBSYS_10280884&REV_1000

Thank you. I will give this a shot as the driver I've downloaded a little while ago will not allow me to use the realtek console. Btw, where did you find the link? I went to my board's support page but everything there is old lol.

@erpster4 - Just an update. I've installed the driver you posted but can't seem to get the audio console to run. Not that it's a priority but would love to get this up and running . In any case, thanks.

your Dell Inspiron machine can use either HDA or UAD driver. for HDA drivers you have at least 2 choices.

v6.0.8895.1 FF06 HDA A16 customized non-generic from Dell (has HDXMA7.inf file + Maxxaudio application software)
v6.0.8918.1 FF06 HDA from FMWorld.net (includes generic HDXRT.inf file but should install the Maxxaudio integration files)

the 8945 UAD driver is listed for recent Gigabyte boards only, carlcapone (but the 8945 UAD driver should work for older boards provided the HWIDs in older boards are listed in the UAD driver - new Gigabyte mobos like B550M AORUS ELITE 1.0, Z490 AORUS ELITE AC 1.0, H410M S2 1.0 - these are some of the new motherboards made in 2020 that have the 8945 driver listed)

a reminder carlcapone that you need to first uninstall the HDA driver completely and then install the UAD driver (and of course reboot between uninstalling or installing drivers). as for Realtek Audio Console not working on your Gigabyte board, ask either EdTittel (send him a PM) or MoKiChU. it's working on mine usually after a reboot

Which one should I download (non generic), without having compatibility issue.
What process should I follow in order to completely ge uninstall the current Realtek driver ?( Registry and other files that may left behind) Should I use GeekUninstaller?
