    it happens sometimes
yeah let this one pass and forgive DooGie

a suggestion to improve realtek powershell script - perhaps it should also detect motherboard chipset

motherboards with Realtek HD audio devices on Intel 8th gen (Coffee Lake) chipsets (aka Intel 300-series chipsets like H310, H370, Q370, Z370, Z390, B360/B365. etc.), AMD Ryzen gen 2 (X470, B450, etc.) and higher usually come with UAD/DCH based Realtek audio drivers.

older chipsets from the Intel 7th gen (Kaby Lake) like the 200-series chipsets: B250, H270, Q270, Z270 along with AMD Ryzen chipsets like X370, B350, A320 etc. may use either legacy Realtek HDA drivers or UAD drivers if HWID is listed

but for really older Intel chipsets from 6th gen (Sky Lake) and earlier [and any AMD chipset before Ryzen gen 1] definitely come with or should use Realtek HDA FFxx drivers.

Thanks a lot for the suggestion. I'll see if I can do it, as since Feb. my new laptop (8th gen i7 Whiskey Lake) uses a UAD driver and I need to open up again the "decommissioned" old 5th gen one.
The only thing that worries me, is that there is no definite rule (at least one I know of) that distinguishes the driver in use from the chipset, as you very cleverly put it "usually come with" and "it may use"....
I'll give it a try and I'll keep you guys posted. Thanks again.

some Graphic Equalizers have a feature to prevent Clipping, which maybe enabled, not sure if that is your Issue though... I am not an Audiophile , nor do I know about Streaming Services , so likely not alot of help . sorry.

    Attachment 277493

Thanks for all the help, we're streaming to zoom meeting at the same time and it had a setting to adjust the mic gain. It was the culprit.

you need to use any FF01 HDA driver for the Lenovo computer, Soapm. there is a v6.0.8899.1 FF01 X64 HDA driver available from Microsoft Update Catalog (149.3Mb cab download). download & save the cab file onto your computer - view it in a file archiving tool like 7zip, Winrar or Winzip, extract all the files inside and use Device Manager to install or update the "Realtek High Definition Audio" driver from the Sound, video and game controllers section and restart the computer.
Thanks, that worked but it wasn't the problem.

several days late on this but:

    6.0.8924.1 HDA FF01 X86/32bit & X64/64bit "generic" available from MS Update Catalog (posted 5/23/2020)
    Microsoft Update Catalog

    [direct cab download link to 8924 FF01 HDA 64bit - 149.4Mb]
    [direct cab download link to 8924 FF01 HDA 32bit - 88.8Mb]

now users with Realtek HD audio can choose to either download a generic 8924 FF00 or FF01 version as MS has both FF00 & FF01 versions available from MUC

FF01 version mostly benefits most Lenovo & some HP brand computers
FF01 > Fortemedia integration or FMAPO

    v6.0.8934.1 FF04 HDA "generic" 32bit & 64bit from Hewlett-Packard (sp103850) [release notes]
    WHQL for x86 & x64 Windows from Vista, Win7 to Win10
-for HP Z230/Z240, Z2 Mini G3 Workstation PCs (but can work on non-HP systems with Realtek HD audio)
    {note that this is a generic FF04 version not an FF00 version}

    Code:
    [IntcAzAudModelAddReg]
    HKR,Settings,EffectComponents,0x00010001,0xFF04
Also, the generic 8934 hdart.inf, hdxrt.inf & hdxsst.inf files have added these new hardware device IDs:

    Code:
    HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0897
    INTELAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0897
    FF04 = Conexant (CXAPO) integration

    I have Lenovo ideaCentre 510A (it's a Desktop)
    Win 10 Ver. 1909
And have downloaded Lenovo's current Realtek driver from its site The details say 6.0.8858.1 12/10/19
Well that's from Levnovo's site and for the purpose of seeing if those older HDA drivers might synch to this computer and play louder like they did on the old computer i had (with Win. 7) and same speakers that i know was better sounding all the way around. But having new computer it was suggested that trying to affix HDA drivers may be a waste of time and may not even work.

In the info. you provided (and thanks by the way) of the F01 you said it was probably better with Lenovo and so, with that, maybe i could try it to see how it would or wouldn't(?) and if not, re-roll to the present Drivers.

there are at least FIVE versions of ideacentre 510a desktop computers, leis.
    which one is it? 510A-15ABR, 510A-15ARR, 510A-15ICB, 510A-15ICK or 510A-15IKL
    pick one

edit - by the way, the 6.0.8858.1 driver from Lenovo is a UAD driver (I can easily tell because 8858 is a small download!)
you have to completely uninstall that using either Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) or Driverstore Explorer (Rapr), reboot and then clean install an HDA (non-UAD) driver.

FF01 HDA drivers are used mostly on certain Lenovo laptop PCs (aka. ideapad / thinkpad, etc.) and on a few HP brand all-in-one (AIO) desktop PCs. not sure about Lenovo AIO or deskop PCs but I think they mostly use FF00 versions - FF01 HDA versions can be optionally used on Lenovo AIO desktop pcs
