    Microphone not working on laptop


    Hello I just tried to make a call through Google Hangouts and the person at the other end couldn't hear me and I tried re-enabling, testing, and diagnosing the computer's mic to no avail. I used to be able to make calls just fine a few months ago. I'm not sure what I did to cause this problem, and I've seen it before but only due to me forgetting to properly configure the mic first which doesn't really count. Please help me with this problem as I would greatly appreciate any and all assistance on this. Thanks.

    Three places to check. You may have already checked.

    Start > Settings > Systems > Sounds

    See what is set as input device. There is Device Properties and a troubleshooter.

    Then Start > Settings > Privacy > Microphone

    and if you are running a browser like Chrome please check Contents Settings within Privacy and Security (All part of Chrome Settings)
