v6.0.9257.1 UAD ASUS driver from ASUS (posted 15/15/2021)
    Thanks for that.
Realtek Audio Console is working again.
Is this the latest version from GIGABYTE?

I don't know why they make the UAD audio drivers so hard to get.
    @EdTittel
Windows 11 Forum needs a great audio thread like this.

not anymore. latest driver version from Gigabyte is v6.0.9287.1 (released in early Feb. 2022 for recent Gigabyte 12th gen Intel series AERO & AORUS laptops like AERO 16) - it's a win11 driver but also works with recent win10 versions

edit - I did suggest a "Sound & Audio" section be created for Eleven Forum several months ago in that forum but still has not occurred yet - probably because Realtek has not even released a new general release version of their HD audio drivers on their web site since mid-July 2017 and a vast majority of recent audio driver versions for Win11 are UAD/DCH drivers, which are only released to many pc manufacturers & motherboard makers

Thanks for that, erpster. The driver is working well. The Realtek Audio Console is also working.

I wonder why the UAD/DCH drivers are only released to computer manufacturers and motherboard manufacturers.

MSI also has 6.0.9313.1 as well (released end of March 2022) but the MSI 6.0.9326.1 driver was updated to 6.0.9336.1 around mid-April 2022

I have an ASUS ROG Zephyrus M GM501GS laptop. The Realtek HD Audio Manager has a Sonic Suite tab, which I didn't have installed. So, I installed Sonic Studio 3 from the Microsoft Store, but it didn't work. It said that the driver didn't support it. So, I was looking at how to remove that tab, and it's at this point, I decided to switch over to UAD drivers.

I downloaded the UAD ASUS drivers posted by erpster4 here, but I don't think it worked as it still read Realtek High Definition Audio in Device Manager and I couldn't get Realtek Audio Console to install from the Microsoft Store. It kept saying that something went wrong.

By the way. It appears that Realtek Audio Console has been renamed to Realtek Audio Control.

Can someone please give me directions on how to install the ASUS UAD drivers properly?

You should bug Asus because Asus "offers" Windows 11 drivers for your laptop model --- which by definition --- should give you the new DCH driver (Realtek Audio Console). But their latest "windows 11" driver (which is legacy driver, not DCH driver) dates all the way back to 2019 before the the "windows 11" os was even in the drawing board inside Microsoft.

But chances are that they are lazy and not posted on their support website but the driver is either available inside their driver updating software or that your older laptop's hardware id number is listed in a newer asus gaming laptop. In that case, just go through the asus website and look for a similar gaming laptop model that is 1 year or 2 year newer than yours, open up the inf file and see if your laptop's hardware id number is in the newer laptop's inf file.

More detailed explanation (with me helping other people in similar situations as yours) is in my sticky tutorial.

it turns out that the old 9257 UAD Asus driver you downloaded from one of my old posts is for certain Asus AIO desktop PCs with XPERI/DTS support only (recently edited the old post there to mention that) [part of the download url path reads "/pub/ASUS/All-In-One/Image/Driver/Audio/" > "all-in-one" or AIO is a desktop pc), "pub/ASUS/nb" or "/pub/ASUS/GamingNB/" in the download path would be for laptops]. therefore that UAD Asus driver package is not designed for your GM501GS laptop and the UAD/DCH driver install will be incomplete & botched on there and you would have to use Wagnardsoft's Display Driver Uninstaller [DDU] tool to scrub off that audio driver and install the proper audio driver from scratch.

also, the old Realtek HD Audio Manager app from the HDA nonUAD driver requires the non-UWP version of the Sonic Studio app (NOT the one from MS store), such as this one.

definitely try to contact/email Asus support or have an online chat with Asus customer service and ask them if they will issue new audio drivers for the GM501GS laptop.

edit - @Stigg: the latest available UAD/DCH Asus "Nahimic" driver made for older ROG Gaming laptops with Sonic Studio UWP / Nahimic integration is v6.0.8981.1 - this one was released late August 2020 by Asus. newer "gaming" rog laptops made in 2021 & later have either DTS:X Ultra or Dolby on them and have dropped Sonic Studio support.
this 8981 UAD Asus "Nahimic" driver has the required HDXASUS.inf and HDX_AsusExt_AVO_RTK.inf files which should work on your GM501GS laptop (that 9257 asus driver had HDXASUS.inf but not HDX_AsusExt_AVO_RTK.inf)
