Realtek UAD driver versions 6.0.8981.1 AND 6.0.8961.1 both recently available on MUC Aug. 5

-I'll need to test the 8961 version on my Gigabyte board to see if I get the Realtek Audio Console version with the "Gigabyte" logo on it or not; I know for sure the 8981 version will give me the Realtek Audio Console app with a "light" theme since that behavior started with 8963

looking at these realtek drivers, Asus takes it a large notch up by providing more functionality over the huge companies like HP/Dell/etc.
Different market segments, Dell Alienware comes with alienware audio recon (their version of in-game sound radar scanner), and nahimic.

some new UAD drivers I recently found for certain Dell & HP users:

version 6.0.8996.1 UAD from Hewlett-Packard (HP) (sp107373) (for HP 260 G4 Desktop Mini PC) [posted 8/11/2020]
(sorry TonyB - this 8996 UAD HP driver is for HP desktop PCs only - won't work on HP laptops; includes only HDXHPBPC.inf, HDXHPBPCAIO.inf & HDXHPBPCWS.inf files]

version 6.0.8991.1 UAD A04 from Dell (for Dell XPS 13 9300 laptop PC) [posted 8/10/2020]

a new milestone with a 9000 something uad driver version like 6.0.9003.1 for certain HP envy laptops (station drivers site mentioned it first)

    {release notes for 9003.1 posted on HP ftp site}

the HDXSSTHPNB.inf file for 9003 is included so I can use this on my bro's HP Spectre x360 15 laptop
also includes RealtekHSA_227 folder with the updated RealtekHSA.inf file that will download build .227 of the Realtek Audio Console from MS store

@erpster4: the answer is "It depends on who made the motherboard/system in which the Realtek audio chip resides." As you yourself have observed in this thread, that usually means checking the maker's support page for your mobo or system and hoping for the best. Otherwise, you must rely on what other people know and find about your system (or related systems). Thus, for example, I was able to use the drivers for a newer chipset on my Asrock Z170 Extreme7+ from the B550M motherboard (v8940.1) through a "try-it-and-see-if-it works" approach. But if you take that approach, you'll want to make an image backup beforehand and have your restore techniques well-oiled, because there's a better than 0% chance that it won't work (or work properly).
    HTH,

well Ed, ASRock just recently released a v6.0.9030.1 UAD RTK driver on their web site (ASRock download link)
try it out on your ASRock board

edit - station drivers site also recently mentioned the 9030 UAD driver

Thanks, erpster4. I should be watching that stuff more closely but life, as they say, keeps getting in the way. My professional (income generating) activity level has been much, much higher than is usual for me lately. Thanks again,

{Note added 7 mins later:} I was NOT able to use the .exe file to perform the update, but using "Update driver" in DevMgr for the UAD driver itself, and the RealTek items under Software components (RT Asio component, RT Audio Effects Component, RT Audio Universal Service, and RT Hardware Support Applciation) all updated correctly Go figure!

so far Ed, it looks like ASRock has the newest Realtek UAD driver available as other manufacturers have yet to catch up or match (or even exceed) the 9030 driver that ASRock has

btw, MS has recently posted the v6.0.9008.1 UAD driver on MUC (late to the Realtek UAD driver party as usual for Microsoft)

Does anyone know where I can find a Realtek Audio app? I have an asrock board. I downloaded and installed the latest realtek audio driver but trying to get the app from the Microsoft Store has not worked. It downloads but does not install. Does anyone have any ideas or a direction to point me in? Any help is appreciated!!! :) Thanks.
