@erpster4, looking at these realtek drivers, Asus takes it a large notch up by providing more functionality over the huge companies like HP/Dell/etc.

I got my Sound Blasterx AE-5 from ebay today for $80 shipped, installed, booted, win10 loaded Oct-2019 creative driver (not sound blaster command prg), played the awesome and free Unreal Tournament 4 game, rear speakers now working great, much louder with 4x 52W rms satellites than only 2, sounds clearer, you can hear more of the sound in the guns reloading/shooting, love the 3d sound of rockets/etc crossing my path from different directions. Played a few rounds, then I installed the SB console software, rebooted, set to 4.1 speakers (default seemed to be 5.1, as i was sometimes missing audio from the missing center speaker), and its even better, like I am in a larger room, the crystalizer is an obvious improvement, pretty happy camper over the realtek-892 onboard sound.

One last thing, when I got my first 55" 1080 TV a decade+ ago, watching new movies was great, well until my friend invited me over to his home theater, popped up a good star-wars movie, I was instantly blown away with a proper 5.1 system, literally ducking for shots fired from behind me that you dont see coming, from that day, I believe the sound is half the experience. Of course you know these systems are dialed into a sweet spot (your seating position), thats why I stopped going to the movie theaters, their system might be semi loud, their is zero sweet spot compared with a decent home theater setup, this is the way i like my pc setup and just couldn't get the realtek working.

Thanks for all your guys help.

ok time to move on, Ozzy33 - we're done helping you for now.

concerns, issues or problems with your Sound Blasterx AE-5 card should be discussed in a separate topic rather than here.

Gigabyte offered the 6.0.8945.1 version for my AORUS Gaming motherboard. Installed like a snap and the Audio Console now works. Thanks!

no matter. someone else made an unofficial 8959 UAD Gigabyte driver, while I have these unofficial 8960 & 8975 UAD Gigabyte drivers, that I've tested out on my Gigabyte board, since both 8960 UAD & 8975 UAD are available from MS Update Catalog.

-edit - weird thing is that the 8960 UAD & older drivers give me the Realtek Audio Console uwp app with the Gigabyte logo on it and installing 8963 UAD & newer drivers give me the Realtek Audio Console uwp app with a "light" theme without the Gigabyte branding logo

hi all just now noticing on my new laptop with a UAD driver after speaking to a MS tech they don't have advanced functions, sucks so here is my question any way to switch a laptop that came with UAD drivers to a standard realtek driver and do a way with the crappy B&O audio from HP?.
