Realtek Audio Console REQUIRES a Realtek HD (UAD) Driver!!

So drivers themselves should be easy to update from cab files old school. W10 does this better than previous OS. However, in my case I think inheriting old file/user structures from win7 and not doing a clean install means I will be reinstalling again soon. I am actually trying to learn best recommended practices and implement them right from zero instead of getting frustrated. My sons mother works for MS and I have used it for so long for all its faults its really come a long way and I will wrangle it to submit to my will!!!!

Until the next new rollout where there install a critical security component AND REINSTALL ALL THE STUPIC XBOX CRAP!

Nothing against xbox or console gamers at all but the way they choose to integrate all the crap on all the platforms for a product I see as unrelated to the PC. There are so many cross-platform installers who can get run its like the people who promote all the "features" have no idea what is happening over at the security division. I am finding so much crap running that is completely superfluous to what I use a PC for. Frankly unless I want it running or it pertains to essential services it should be optional and installed a la carte. There are so many good reasons to have better controls over what Microsoft can install without permission I don't know if this "software as a service" direction is going to benefit anyone but MS. Considering problems I have had with them billing me via paypal for skype and xboxlive in the past I have no reason to trust them. Best practice (for me): assume its going to stop working!

I have tried everything I have found on the web to make the console work. including the instructions in this thread. It always works for me the first time, but after restarting it throws the same error that it cannot connect to the rpc service. This error has had me quite frustrated.
Finally I have solved it as follows:
Task manager -> start -> enable realtek audio hd ... -> Restart.
To my surprise the console worked!
I hope that these instructions can be of use to those who continue with the same problem.

MS did post a slightly older 6.0.8903.1 uad generic driver on MUC yesterday:

but the INF files from generic 6.0.8904.1 uad driver (including hdxrt.inf & hdxrtsst.inf) made the following changes to some entries:

well EdTittel I'm now using 8924 uad on my Gigabyte board but do continue to use 8890 uad on your asrock board until ASRock themselves release a new one

Hi everyone, I'm new here so go easy....!
My question on this subject is how do I get a genuine, clean OEM compliant UAD to upgrade my audio platform on?
The background is as follows:
I have a nicely reliable Lenovo Ideapad, that I constantly try to keep safe, secure and private. Runs W10 Pro x64, sound is Realtek ALC283.
Used for the usual browsing, shopping, sports news, News etc.
Lenovo don't really support these machines well - their driver download site is 2015 era.
I patch cautiously and frequently - a bad patch is worse than no patch for most vulnerabilites
Pretty much let windows update do its own thing (on a 30 day delay setting), and usually run with driver updates blocked.

Learned of a Realtek HD Audio vulnerability and investigated (I was on 6.0.1.7525 from 2015). Realised that no Lenovo support so researched generics on various sites (incl this one).Spent two days (yep 2 days ffs!) trying detailed complete removal methods, blind alleys (404s) on links to git hub and UAD hybrids, whose script failed halfway through.
Eventually got a generic (HDA) download from cnet (>300k downloads) and this brought me up to 6.0.1.8186 A proper uninstaller/installer that you can follow as it works.

Learned plenty along the way....
UAD hybrids (i.e. adaptations for 'older machines') don't work for me - effort/benefit trying them doesn't pay
Driver Store program is great to identify old stuff that can be removed
Windows (at least for hda type) presumes that a HW ID match is better than a more recent date.
Ultrasearch is great detail and so powerful it is best to use with caution
Windows restore and recovery still works even after 90 minutes! (had to go that way once)

However - I still haven't got driver to the point of 'vulnerability fixed' which seems to be hda >8857 or any uad version.

Uad seems to be the way to go, and the MS (and Intel) site gives good insight into uad (dch, uwp) rationale - i.e. driver manufacturer writes base version, OEMs put their own optional component packages on top, and updates should be lightweight and easy right?

Where do I find a compatible oem driver that can get me started?
The realtek site ends at 2017 with R2.82, Lenovo site for Ideapad U430p is hopeless
MUC searches such as 'Realtek 1903' yield>1000 lines, and when I start drilling in to them I see package details that don't include my hardware ID and I can't check them all. Am I looking too deep?

I'm not too concerned about a console or gui (lost that with 8186), just need an installer that provides an oem generic uad that can go forward with approved, certified ms updates.

Ddelo, thanks for prompt reply, tried searching the hardware ID on MUC and then inspecting inf files to see if my ID was really in each package and after looking for a couple of hours gave up.

This morning I tried iterating a Google search of support.lenovo.com and turned up only 4 results, one for an M73p ThinkCentre in Spanish. Converted that to a Lenovo support search in English (US), and turned up a package 6.0.8924.1 dated two days ago (24/4/20). The text file download shows it is for a vast amount of codecs over many years, so I made a restore point (and other backups of course) and gave it a go without checking the hardware ID. (couldn't read the unpacked files and F3 searches for parses of my id yielded nothing in the pack). A proper uninstall/install process happened (with a reboot in between), and hey presto - I am on 6.0.8924.1 and everything is working!

It still isn't the UAD version as it has the old style realtek Audio Manager in the system tray, but the original objective (to get to higher than the security fix level of 8857) is mission accomplished. I doubt if I'll spend much more time on seeking a UAD solution, although MS and Realtek should make it easy not hard as it would benefit them too. (less support queries, less server bandwidth taken etc.)

Finally another great learning point is when MS Update wants to overwrite your hours of hard work by reverting back a driver, there is a Show/Hide Cabinet you can run to block that - and I hadn't seen that since XP.
