UAD drivers are meant for use on modern PCs and run on recent 64bit Win10 versions only (UAD drivers don't support nor work on older versions of Windows as they require at least the Win10 v1703 Creators update release) UAD drivers appear in x64 (64bit) format only - no 32bit/x86 editions of uad drivers will be produced (and it would not make any sense to do so)

the traditional/legacy HDA or non-UAD drivers support a wide variety of Realtek HD audio devices from old PCs to new ones - HDA drivers install & work on many different Windows versions as early as Windows Vista and up to the most recent Windows 10 version. HDA drivers come in both 32bit and 64bit editions.
So you recommend that I install HDA drivers then instead of what I downloaded from MS catalog? if so can you link me those drivers for components and the Audio driver?

I don't know why people on this forum repeatedly explain HDA vs UAD drivers incorrectly.

Microsoft wanted to test and certify minimal hardware drivers (whether they be audio drivers or graphics drivers) so that they can push them out via windows update faster to patch bugs and security vulnerabilities. Microsoft calls the new driver "DCH driver" and Realtek's UAD driver is a "DCH driver".

Intel Launches 'Modern Drivers' for Windows 10 Version 1809 -- Redmondmag.com

It doesn't make your graphics card run faster. It doesn't make your audio card sound better. What you are getting is more frequent bug fixes on your drivers.

You have the modern drivers. HDA is old and garbage.

So there's nothing wrong with what I currently have installed?

I'll give this a shot. Thanks! Asrock had me update my bios but it didn't fix it.
hello Christyles. It appears ASRock has released a new Realtek UAD driver - version 6.0.8825.1 UAD + SBC5 for many ASRock gaming boards last Friday 11/15/2019. try this new one and see if it works for your ASRock board.

8825 is for ASRock GAMING boards boards only, Ownsin. [I clearly said "ASRock gaming boards" in my last post]

Your Z370 Taichi board is a non-gaming board. you have to wait for ASRock to release a new driver for your specific board

I will probably install. Just download, unzip, update via device manager and point to win64 folder

assuming the hardware ID number of Ownsin's ASRock board is mentioned in the proper INF file.

the 8825 UAD ASrock + SBC5 driver may not have the correct INF file for his board - the 8825 uad driver package has the HDXASrok.INF file as I just checked myself.

edit: updating the UAD driver thru device manager will only update the rtaiodat.dat & rtkvhd64.sys files

just simply wait for ASRock to publish a new driver for your board, Ownsin. the 8825 UAD + SBC5 driver seems to use a different INF file which may not work for your board and will only work for certain "gaming" boards. come back after Thanksgiving or sometime in December to see if ASRock will issue a specific Realtek UAD driver. in the meantime, continue to use the existing UAD driver even though it may be a bit out of date.
