Or any installation instruction, whether they be in the downloaded file or on the asrock website.

The only way the UAD driver and Realtek audio console would work properly is the three software components.

So there are only 2 potential problems.

    1) either asrock packaged the UAD driver incorrectly and didn't include an installer to properly install the required software components.
    2) end user not reading installation instructions correctly.

Either case, you should go to asrock support forums and talk to their people.

There is no read me file on the driver package from Asrock and I have already checked their forums. A bunch of people have my problem with no solution. Why do you think I'm here xD

    1) download the asrock 8496 driver
    2) unzip the file
    3) go to win64\realtek\CodecExtOem_rtk_8496
    4) install HDX_WhiteExt_rtk by using command line pnputil

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/win...evtest/pnputil

It should install the 3 software components (which are in the 3 other folders i.e. RealtekAPO, RealtekHSA and RealtekService).

I'm not being able to install it through the cmd line because it keeps showing me this https://i.imgur.com/cXUEMxA.png . Is there an easier way to do this?

Did you use the installer or the updater? The easiest way is to use the actual asrock installer.

But if that doesn't work, make sure you actually unzip the file, not just browse using the mouse.

Sometimes you have to put quotes on the file name because there are spaces in the file/folder names --- like "c:\downloads\8496 uad whql\….\HDX_WhiteExt_rtk.inf"

    You missed the ".inf".

When you unzip the file, there are something like rtkupdate app (forgot the precise name) and installer app. I just thought you might have used the wrong one.

You missed the ".inf" in the cmd line.

You mean RtlUpd64/RtlUpd? I tried clicking that and nothing happens. Only thing that works is the setup.exe

The setup.exe is the correct one and you should have been able to install the 3 software components. Don't know what's wrong with that.

    Just use the cmd line.

Well, this was extremely odd. I reinstalled the driver just now (I did that multiple times before without avail), but now I was able to launch the Realtek Audio Console and It also installed the components without doing the cmd line thing. This is extremely weird because I have reinstalled the driver a bunch of times before and this never happened. Here's a screenshot of the RAC: https://i.imgur.com/rwwxxGL.png - All looks good?

P.S: is there a point finding a newer driver or is this driver fine-tuned for my mobo even though it's a year old now.
