Hey! I think I can help. Download this:
Realtek HD Audio (UAD) Drivers Version R2.8x (8586) WHQL(Asrock)
Unzip the file, locate the Setup.exe (main folder), double-click and install the package.
You don't have to do anything else. The installation will remove any old drivers and reboot the PC. After that, it will automatically install the UAD drivers and reboot again.
Everything should work after that. That's what I did and it works flawlessly. Let me know!
FWIW, this version also works on my system (8586). Going back to update the first post with the latest version from Station Drivers. Thanks for pointing this out, @iamnewhere.

You can do that (download and install the setup.exe from inside the ZIP folder) if you want to. Me, personally, I hate going through the old uninstall the old, then clean install the new routine. I've determined by experiment that pointing the Update Driver function at the Win64 sub-directory inside the unpacked file structure ("D:\Realtek8586\Realtek_Audio(v8586_UAD_WHQL_RTK)\Win64" in my case) will update the drivers properly and finishes in under 30 seconds. Doing it the RealTek way takes considerably longer than that. Your call.

Hi,
Just after I posted, I decided to go the old legacy route and run setup.exe from the 6.0.1.8603 drivers I got off the ROG forums.
It worked wonders, including restoring my left satellite channel that I thought was due to a dead speaker; an issue i was having with Windows not recognising that I plugged in front headphones and muting the rear audio; plus after reboot with the new drivers I found that Windows had automatically downloaded and installed the console from the Store.
I could post the ROG forum link if it's not against forum rules, or it can be found under the thread in the forum for Z370/Z390 ROG boards.
AFAIK, it's OK to post useful third-party links, as long as you label them clearly and they contain no hidden gotchas!
Thanks,
