The EQ comes up when you select "Speakers" under Playback Devices, to wit:

Hi. I currently have Nvidia audio driver + Microsoft ones only. Is there any benefit to installing this software?

    Hey everyone,

I followed the guide on installing the UAD version of Realtek's drivers. I installed them successfully, however when I went to the Microsoft Store to download the Realtek Audio Control software I received an error. It states that it can't install this program - 0x803FB005.

Tried downloading a few times to no avail, anyone know of a fix? I just installed Windows 10 1809 via a fresh .iso from Microsoft's own website.

Thanks in advance to anyone who might help!

    P.S.

I want to mention that other apps from the Microsoft Store install perfectly fine. I just tested with a few. The Realtek one appears to be the culprit. Also, the Review section for the app is filled with comments outlining my experience.

Nekrono I feel your pain! Updated to 1809 and thats the million $$ question how to get it back... I also lost the Enhancements tab and I can't seem to find a solution to get it back after spending hours on Google trying to find a fix. Its a known issue that plagued many users. I don't think its even possible any longer with the new MS updates and Realtek drivers. I've settled on using the Realtek Audio Console with selected options. Works fine FYI..
Yup, ended up resolving it by doing the following:

1- Uninstall all Realtek Audio drivers until it shows as High Definition Audio driver on device manager.
2- Manually install realtek_uad_8591 through device manager.
    3- Reboot twice.
4- Install Realtek Console Windows app
Get Realtek Audio Control - Microsoft Store

That managed to get me the EQ and all the other settings through the Realtek app finally.

The only issue that I'm having right now is that Forza Horizon 4 seems to ignore the custom EQ that I set, for some reason it disables all enhancements but maybe that's something to do with Windows 10 18xx updates because on 1709 it was not happening.

Thanks @Nekrono for sharing your approach in such nice detail. It really tells readers how to jump off the old Realtek bus, and jump onto the new one. Much-appreciated!

@EdTittel, thanks for your posts on this subject they make for interesting reading, very informative.
However for now I'll stick with the Realtek HDA drivers. For me the Realtek HD Audio Manager is far nicer looking on my old MSI mobo

Thanks @DooGie! My goal is to inform. It is most emphatically NOT to persuade folks to do an "out with the old, in with the new" maneuver. I'm a firm believer in telling people about their options, and then letting them decide which one(s) are best for them. Glad you took things in the spirit in which I intended them. Happy New Year, too!
