    Hah! Gues what!

I just discovered that although I have Realtek Audio Console installed and it is running well, it is not actually doing anything.

I can move the sliders and click the buttons and select from lists all I want, but it app actually does jack squat controlling my audio.

Think this is after upgrading to 8606.

    Going to uninstall and reinstall.

Just updated to 8603 through Device Manager (UAD), everything seems totally fine. The only thing that got reset was the volume slider to 67%. The Realtek Audio Console works fine.

Here you go - Microsoft Update Catalog

You'll have to extract the content of the .cab file and update the driver through Device Manager.

Here is an example of how you can install the driver once downloaded from the Update Catalog:

Open an elevated command prompt and run the following:

Note: The below commands assume that the driver you downloaded is located in C:\Update, that it is called MyFile.CAB, and that you want to extract it to C:\Extracted. Modify as needed.

    Code:
    expand C:\Update\MyFile.CAB -f:*.* C:\Extracted
    pnputil /add-driver C:\Extracted\*.inf /install
If you want to recurse subdirectories and perform a reboot if needed by the driver, modify the second command as follows:

    Code:
    pnputil /add-driver C:\Extracted\*.inf /install /subdirs /reboot

I just found a way to scare the hell out of someone running the UAD drives and using the UWP Realtek app

While Groove is playing change the Hz/bit depth

Realtek Audio Console REQUIRES a Realtek HD (UAD) Driver!!-image.png
(I went from 192000Hz 32bit to 192000 24bit and Realtek Audio Console REQUIRES a Realtek HD (UAD) Driver!!-nuke_explosion.gif)

It will go into a BSOD so fast no dump(.dmp) will be written or neither will anything show up in Reliability History.
I have just done it 3 times in a row, and it never happened with the HDA driver versions.
