How come even after installing the UAD drivers and everything looks right in device manager (software components, etc...) it still says cannot connect to rpc service?

    Download UAD driver, mine:
Realtek HD Audio (UAD) Drivers Version R2.8x (8591) WHQL

Open it with 7zip or winrar,
    look for folder "RealtekService_138"
    extract it, then select "RealtekService.inf"
Right click it then select "Install"
Try opening Realtek Audio Console, if it still can't connect, restart your PC

Mines set as default also but clicking play will crash it. It never did this till that update.
There is a Cumulative Update KB4490481 that came out that should fix some audio device issues. It's not available for me yet. Did this update fix the crash issue when clicking the Play test button in the Realtek Audio Console app?

I have the Realtek Audio Console as it came as a package from Gigabyte with my Z390 Aorus ULTRA. Has anyone ran into any issues when plugging headphones into the back jack?

Its listed as Front Speakers but I can't change it to detect as Headphones like my Front Jack does.

I'm not using them at the same time either just one cable straight into the Back Panel Front Speaker Jack. In the past on older boards I would be able to switch from Speaker to Headphones this doesn't give me the option. See the image below.
    Attachment 228255

Even if I change the front jack to speakers out I still can't change the Back Panel Green as there is no drop down option.
Same problem here. I have a Gigabyte Z370 Gaming 7. No sound come out of the back jack and it lists as Front Speaker like your screenshot. My DAC plays normally, but it's connected to an USB port, not those back jacks.

    Hi
I tried to install the 8591 UAD Driver - no success about connecting the Realtek Audio- Console with the RPC-Service. Then, I've found the "AUDIO_Realtek_UAD_ASUS_Nahimic_v6.0.1.8668" in ASUS ROG-Forum: This Package doesn't include supported Drivers :-( (Error-Code-0001)

Yup, ended up resolving it by doing the following:

1- Uninstall all Realtek Audio drivers until it shows as High Definition Audio driver on device manager.
2- Manually install realtek_uad_8591 through device manager.
    3- Reboot twice.
4- Install Realtek Console Windows app
Get Realtek Audio Control - Microsoft Store

That managed to get me the EQ and all the other settings through the Realtek app finally.

The only issue that I'm having right now is that Forza Horizon 4 seems to ignore the custom EQ that I set, for some reason it disables all enhancements but maybe that's something to do with Windows 10 18xx updates because on 1709 it was not happening.
Followed this Fix and the realtek_uad_8591 driver gives me the error for the Realtek app. The Realtek uad 8501 driver does allow the app to download. I tried the fix with using that driver instead but to no avail the EQ/enhancements are still missing.

I have a realtek ALC889 inside an ASUS P6X58D-E I also have it connected by an optical cable to a Philips DVD/Surround sound . Any other options? Thank you 22Green for pointing me in a direction.
