Does anyone have the same problem as me and my gf after upgrading to windows 10 version 1809?
The sound from programs like skype,discord,teamspeak 3 is disorted and garbled while other sounds from games and youtube and windows itself are just fine.
1803 didnt had this problem .
I think its has to be something with voip i think

You need to check if windows update your sound card audio driver to a version different to manufacturer latest or legacied your drivers to "Generic Audio HD" or "High Definition Audio Device" if so try to download and install latest driver by manufacturer .
You see your problem is with Mic feed not audio output , usually most Mics are lame and then software audio filters bundled with the sound card audio driver enhances it . So when you lose the driver you lose enhancements .
Also there is a case where the audio enhancements provided by that driver become incompatible with newer releases of windows despite working fine before , in that case you need to Right Click Speaker Control (in system try) > Recording Devices > Microphone > Advanced > Signal enhancements (Sometimes Audio enhancements) > untick Enable Audio Enhancements > Apply , despite this disables software audio filters and hinder audio quality but is your getaway until your company releases a new working driver .
these applications use mp3 for sound effects?
