How does one obtain a DTS or DD license?
I think the bass is better on build 8292, it seems to go deeper but still remains tight.
However I'm still not totally convinced by the top end, to my ears it sounds a bit ragged.
I'm still using 8292 and probably will until the next build is released.

Listened to these for a few hours today and my initial reservations have gone, they are good drivers :)

No idea how these engineers at RT do it but they turn drivers into little EQs or so it seems.
To my aging ears 8279 seems to have struck a good balance overall. Used to hear sounds over 24KHz when I was younger, no idea what it's like now I turned 60. LOL....

Yes, @DooGie, I did. I have two machines deploying the same RT chip. I still prefer 8279.
It sounds better balanced to me. But your ears may prefer different.
You know, although audio is a science at the end of the day we choose whatever we like. Speaker aren't ruler flat either, neither are rooms.
