Your's is nice Cliff.
Hi all ,
i will confess i cannot remember the last time i actually updated my realtek drivers ,but i did update to 8.2.1.0 a few days back after seeing this thread.
Now am i on the nicest (in your opinion) sounding drivers ?
Also if not can someone explain what the many different kinds of drivers are on the MUC page , i know one is 64 bit and the other not but i see sometimes 2 versions for each and its confusing .
Also i have the Asus Z270F which has inbuilt
supreme FX and i do not want to break or ruin them, all seems fine on 8210.
Thanks
Daniel
You wont break or ruin the drivers. OEMs use the same drivers we do except they like to skin them. I too have an ASUS motherboard which has skinned the control panel.
OEMs tend to be a few versions behind if you're lucky or massively out-of-date if you're not.
i understand that asturias7 I just felt that Erpster with all the help he's given me and others over the years needed to know he was operating on a misconception. I have no doubt he believed what he said was true, but how would he know if he never encountered it. so fir the sake of all the people he helps I mentioned it.
there also is another site that has modded several realtek drivers that change the look and feel of the audio Manager one such example is here
The Ultimate Realtek HD Audio Driver Mod for Windows 10 | TechPowerUp Forums
or here
Unlocked Realtek HD Audio Drivers for Windows 10 (Dolby Digital Live/DTS Interactive) | TechPowerUp Forums
Ive heard for years that the motherboard determines the interface and not the software but it simply isnt true. it may be for most users but not all. as with anything in life, there are ALWAYS exceptions to the rule
CountMike, that sounds accurate from what Ive seen too, .and I as well have tried to figure it out, but im not smart enough to run it down
but when I saw changed inf files were giving entirely different interfaces I knew it couldnt be just Motherboard or hardware based......software has to contain a triggering mechanism otherwise they couldnt change the look on the same machine. there's no other explanation
they change presets what functions are available (dolby, dts, srs) and colors and look of the interface
I never use the control panel. I don't want to color the sound. I keep the EQ on flat and let the speakers do its job.
So is it okay to stick with 8199 that WU pushed as they are the best sounding? I hate updating working drivers.
