    Microphone is apparently blocked from being used?


    Recently, I have been having issues where i'd launch Discord, Steam or any service which uses the mic and none of them have been receiving anything. I've checked that the correct microphone is being used in the settings (it comes up as USB PnP sound device) and I have tried it with USB microphones and a Microphone which goes into the actual microphone jack. Feel free to ask any questions for more info.

    Press the Windows and "i" keys simultaneously, click "Privacy", "Microphone" and make sure "Allow apps to access your microphone" is on. Also, scroll down and make sure the application you are using is also set to "On".

263366 I am trying to use a new program but this is what I get when trying to launch it. Online there are so many suggestions regarding the cause and what to do about I don't know where to start.
