Windows audio service will not start

Three days ago I launched my PC and discovered there is no sound. I'm not sure whats causing it as I haven't made any software changes nor added any new audio devices.

I've tried numerous fixes attempting to start Windows audio service via services but I am always greeted with this error message despite attempting to do so with the only admin account on the PC:

Windows audio service will not start-audioissue1.png

This has lead me to believe it is an issue with windows itself and have tried to reset my system, only to be met with this error:

Windows audio service will not start-there-problem-refreshing-your-pc.png

I've tried repairing the system using the SFC and DISM commands to be met with the following errors:

I've attached the logs of both the SFC and DISM results.

I'm really stumped as where to go from here. Any help would be greatly appcriciated!

Hi Ngan. Welcome to the TenForums @Ngan

Couple of ways you could approach this. SFC may need to be run up to three times to repair everything.

Then there is this tutorial, Step 6 or 7 where you are using an alternate source for your replacement files.

Use DISM to Repair Windows 10 Image

Myself I would just do an inplace repair / upgrade. FYI if your machine is not on V1803 it will be upgrade.

I always recommend backing up personal data. The process itself is non-destructive but I play safe and it never hurts to have a backup.
