I got a new desktop computer today, and the volume of it is so low that I can barely hear sounds even when it's on 100% and I'm wearing headphones. Does anyone know any fixes to this?

Where are you plugging in your headphones and what is the manufacturer and model of the desktop.

I'm plugging my headphones into the monitor that is connected to my PC's tower. The tower is HP Omen 870-224.

Does the keyboard have keys to adjust the hardware volume [mine do]? Frequently that has to be accomplished before the Windows controls help. Notebooks are the same. You can also plug into the Speakers port on the front or rear [rear port is usually the light green one]. I've never seen the speakers in monitors be as satisfactory as separate speakers/headset. And the monitor menu or control buttons usually have a speaker setting.

My keyboard does have keys to adjust the hardware volume, but those are just synced with the windows controls.

Mine aren't exactly synced, can control the volume separately, set the keyboard first then set the Windows volume.

How do I do that? I'll have the windows controls at mute volume and when I turn up the volume on my keyboard the windows controls will go up with it.

I would plug them directly into the PC.

Yup! That worked; and when I tested the volume I almost made myself deaf. Thanks!
