No sound indication on cap lock.

Windows 10 version 1803 has just installed on my desktop computer.
The only thing that appears to be missing is the sound when using the cap lock button.
I have looked at settings, ease of access, keyboard, enable tone, which is enabled but still no tone.
This also applys to the num lock and scroll lock buttons. Is there anywhere else to look?
I have enabled the screen flash which I suppose is better than no indication.

More than likely you need to re-enable the setting for it in Settings > Ease Of Access > Keyboard again.
I noticed on my 2 pc's that some settings don't transfer over to 1803.
Go through all the settings and make sure they're all how you want them.
If any aren't just change them back to how you want them and then restart your PC and re-check them again to see if they're how you want them still.

Well I'll be....I never knew that. As long as I've been using a PC I've never had a sound go off when pressing cap lock. This is for any PC I've owned....OEM or custom built.

That is freaking cool. Was this in every version of windows?

I can't remember if it was or not.
Haven't used 7 since 8 came out, then 8.1 shortly after and now 10.
My guess would be it was in 8/8.1 and then some settings were refined in 10.
Either that or 10 was the first.
I do know that 1803 is the worst at keeping your previous settings out of all past Windows 10 versions.

Since the Registry is rewritten with each succeeding Version Upgrade that is pretty much a given, some things get reset to Default. A Build might also do enough changes that other things get reset.

Can you confirm that you hear other system sounds please.

For interest (?) (and this is 1709 not 1803...)...

Note: these may have been rationalised in 1803...

Held the numlock key down until the toggle key message appeared, clicked on YES but it made no difference.
Other sounds (Skype etc.)are working ok.

For some unknown reason the screen froze this morning so I had to switch off at the mains.
When I re-booted up again the sounds were back,so I now have the sounds and the flashing screen
but I can live with that. Thanks again.
