Classic Shell works just fine and always has.
Hope that Classic Shell works the same on the 1903 (May) build!

Has anyone tested it on the Insider build, just yet?

I wonder if some kind member who gets search results including results for Modern Setttings could upload a (zipped) copy of
    %LOCALAPPDATA%\Packages\windows.immersivecontrolpanel_cw5n1h2txyewy\LocalState\

so I could try fixing mine and see the 'Modern Settings' search work?

Classic Shell's forum referred to the problem of this folder being empty in several threads, hence my previous post #719. That it's empty doesn't affect normal search in Settings.

    (Build 1809) Thanks!

On 1809, mine is empty, too. On Insider (18875), it's populated. Here ya go:

Many thanks- tried that, ensured it was indexed by Windows search too as per references in Classic Shell forum, but still no search result section for Modern settings.

Can try this with my other PC.

With your 1809, presumably you don't see a Modern Settings results section either, do you?

Anyway, really just curiosity - and my cat is sitting quite near... - I never noticed it missing, so not too worried.

No, not on 1809, just Insiders and Release Preview.
