I'm using Classic Shell for now which works in 1803. I don't really understand GitHub. How do we know when Classic Start is 'stable' and suitable for general use?
Yes, git is for developers. I used to be one, but not anymore. All I want is an installable package. I don't want to "build" software, and I don't even know how anymore.

I wonder ... amongst the thousands (millions?) of people who take the trouble to build a version of CS from git source ... wouldn't it make sense for someone to post a new/recent release as fully built code? That would save the rest of us a lot of fuss.

I will stay with the original. Like I said CS 4.3.1 is better and performs better. But to each his own.

Only posted that as a reply to @margrave55 question. Not as an endorsement.

Yes, you did. Perhaps it would have been better to post it as a stand-alone statement of fact, as opposed to attaching it as a reply quoting my post. That way no inference could be drawn it was in reply to me. Just sayin...............

Maybe so but had already posted that OS has not been updated since 4.4.131 so it seems that the developers of OS know that CS still works and probably will for quite a long time. I wonder why the original Developer does not re activate his forum?

Josey, Ivo explained many months ago he no longer has the time or want too, to continue working with the program. He also stated at that time he would keep his website open and maintained for 6 months. I think we are very lucky that Github people picked it up and continue working on it. otherwise, it would eventually be just another great program that just went away or people jumped through hoops to keep running pn newer equipment/OS's

The latest full version installer can be found at Releases · Open-Shell/Open-Shell-Menu · GitHub no action needed other than to run the *.exe, I would recomend backing up your setting to an XML file. While this latest version 131 will carry forward your settings, anything could happen. when I upgraded my 3 Win 10 Pro 1809 computer 2 of the 3 maintained there setting on one I have to restore my setting using the backup XML file
