I agree. Just make it work with newer Windows builds. As for making functional changes in CS, don't screw around with perfection.

That is not true. Windows is widely adapted in corporate and enterprise world.

Only about a year ago, I had to find another ATM because the one went to get some cash was showing Windows 7 BSOD screen.
Yes, Windows is widely used in all types of businesses..Same happened in Australia, the ANZ Bank (Australian and New Zealand banking group) ATM had W7 B homes screen when it malfunctioned...seen it with my own eyes.

Plus in the Automotive OEM Sector Windows (Microsoft) dominates, it is virtually 100% for OEM Diagnostics.
One of the main reasons Internet Explorer is still running in W10 as it is needed in the OEM Automotive Software.
    Edge will not work.

    Guys

WORKING CLASSIC SHELL .EXE FOR WINDOWS 10 IP 17704 (AND PREVIOUS IP VERSION)

    Download Link: https://github.com/passionate-coder/...up_4_4_109.exe

I had to do a few things but it's been compiled into a binary just like the original version. It will install to your "Program Files" folder and contain the usual files. I am running it as I write this. Yahooooo!

This project is being developed and discussed at: GitHub - passionate-coder/Classic-Start

    Tnx 'coddec' :)

    P.S.
    The offending file was: MenuContainer.cpp

Chrome warned about the download, but it did download, and Defender wanted to Scan it, but it's clean.
And the program does appear to work just as before.
Well done to those involved, and now I can stop trying to like the Windows start menu!

I am keeping a WinXP computer running because it has the necessary ports on the motherboard for both the 5.25" and 3.5" floppy drives and a 250MB Iomega Zip drive. The floppy support has been disappearing from motherboards over the last several years. I keep the system for those of my clients that tend to come across those disks and want to know what's on them.
What - no support for 8" floppies?
