I have been using the classic shell version since Windows 8/10 came out and prefer it to the tiles.

    Just my opinion -

I'm staying with the original CS while it still works.

There is the "new" Open-Shell but it appears to me the same as CS.
Just some name changes in it, easy stuff, IMO.

If I'm wrong, please let me know...

They made a change to work around an issue with some of the insider builds. It looks like MS has fixed that problem though. I'm staying with Open Shell because Classic Shell is no longer supported.

OK. I don't see any real changes in Open Shell - as a matter of fact many references to Classic Shell are still in the .exe, so I'm a bit confused if any real work is being done with it.

Bear in mind Windows contains e.g. help links that are way out of date and look useful and no longer take you to useful web pages... and that's supposed to be a commercial consumer product.

The work on Open Shell is by volunteers, who will presumably come new to the code.

(Maybe that's the problem with Windows too... )

I have a mixed bag of CS and OS all thru the 7296 OS's and VM's I've managed to collect. I think all the OS are .131, not sure. Too lazy to put CS back on over OS, although it's easy. I can't tell much difference, if any.

Not only does Classic Shell 4.3.1 still work in builds 1809 & 19H1 it works better than Open Shell. I know understand why all the updates to Open Shell have stopped.
