    Glary Utilities won't update

Hi, Just used Brink's excellent tutorial, to update my nearly ten years old Dell Inspiron laptop to the latest version of W10, the one they said would "never run W10 in a million years".........to keep laptop in tip-top condition I run Glary Utilities, 4 or 5 times a week.......since the update Glary itself won't update, anyone know why ?......Del.

Mmhhh........it would seem that Glary not updating may not be a W10 version update issue after all..........I have just tried to update it on my other laptop, which has been up to date for some time, and it won't update on it either........I wonder if there is a way to FORCE Glary to update ?.........Del.

5 times a week is too much, I would say once a week at best and longer really.

You could try uninstalling glary, and fresh installing the latest version.

Yes I did wonder about that, thanks........weird really, Glary is telling me I have 1 new software update......itself....but when I click to download it, nothing happens.........I think the W10 version update thing was just a coincidence.........Del.

What browser are you using to update this software? Which btw is unnecessary and as stated needs to be uninstalled. If you like it, roll with it.

From what I'm reading from some reviews of the software from cnet........are saying that it's not compatible with chrome and causing it not to run or run correctly.

I use the Edge browser, have done right from the start, never had any problems before.............so is there an alternative to Glary Utilities ?......I know about CCleaner etc. etc........or are they just not needed ?.........if not, then how to get rid of all the rubbish on your system ?.........Del.

Most of us stay away from such software, the supposed AIO clean and boost as they tend to do more harm then good. Most of us IT and Tech enthusiasts use: Ccleaner, superantispyware, Adwcleaner, Malwarebytes (Pro), Hitman (Pro) and a few others in some form of combination.

Most don't and those that do, don't really want to find out what the root cause is and when they're told it's their old reliable AIO software they don't want to hear/believe it. That's just human nature and will try and defend the use of it...again, just human nature.

Those in the know stay away from such snake oil(s).
