just realized that windows essentials is no longer available..

Was going to use windows movie maker 11 on my windows 10 and see it is no longer available as part of that package called Essentials .. I guess I could drop over $60 for an ''on line same type'' program.. but here's the deal ..Why?

I am so glad I still have windows XP pro sp3 with windows maker 11 still installed on it.. I have this windows xp on another HD ( duel boot) so will have to run and and use the video/audio files I need from window 10 over to the older video program .. Unless someone knows of the same type free program..

I always laugh at how a google search will produce ''Free programs to download''
but $$50/ 60 to buy/use after it has been 'streamed for free'' down to your desktop .. !!

Hi, if you search the forum for movie maker you will find
    - it's been discussed a number of times
    - some threads have out of date links (that's natural)
    - some provide possible downloads..

Here's one with links that work (I've just tested that)...

Window Essentials 2012 has been removed from Microsoft's servers. You can no longer download the offline installer from them. However, the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine has preserved functional copies of Microsoft's download pages from before they were pulled. You can still get the offline installer from there. There are some issues in trying to install Movie Maker, but it can still be done. More details (and links) in this post.

Now that windows movie maker is no longer there what do people use
