    Store update

Is anyone having problems updating the store app tonight? I checked for updates in the store and it found an update for the store itself but it starts to download / calculate and then complains ‘error see details’. Whereupon it says ‘something unexpected happened blah blah code 0x80073CF0’

Yep, getting the same on both Desktop and Laptop.

Edit: I just cleared the SoftwareDistribution Download folder to see if it was just hung up or something, but it didn't help

Yeah, thanks. I just tried our other machine and getting same error. The other machine also found a game update (Chess 3D) and gets same error for that app. Grrr, Microsoft!!!

I’ve seen a few other posts on Microsoft answers so I guess this is a widespread problem. Not a peep out of Microsoft though. I just tweeted their Microsoft helps team but am not expecting much out of them. I wonder if it’s region specific as I am in the (UK) - London

Yes Plankton, I get the same if I retry it. Timing is bad. I wouldn’t be so bothered it was a minor app stumbling but I consider the store app a major thing. Seeing as it is the gateway to updating all other apps and installing new ones.

There was just a new build out 16296 maybe that fixed it, I have not checked yet.

I'm not running on the insider preview...and the last cumulative update is installed. So I don't think that's a factor for us on the RTM build.
