Groove Music - will it replace existing metadata in local files?

I've done some very in-depth tagging on my local music library, so I want to make sure none of that work gets overwritten. I've just started using the Groove Music player and I see the following option: "Automatically retrieve and update missing album art and metadata".

Now I'm not really "missing" any metadata per se, but I'd like to see the artist thumbnails and biographical information, along with the slideshows that display in the full "now playing" view. I'm assuming that I'd get this if I turned the above option on?

If that is the case, I just want to make absolutely sure that Groove would leave all my existing metadata (including album art) untouched. As long as nothing is replaced, I'm good.

The wording of the option sounds like it behaves the way I would want it to - just want to be sure.

Backup the folders you keep your work in and save them in a secure place, then you are sure you wont miss anything
latter on. Do this on a regular basis.
