Try going to Control Panel, click on Programs and Features. On the left side of the screen, click on Turn Windows features on or off. A new screen will pop up. At the top, place a check mark in the box next to .Net Framework 3.5 Click the OK button on the bottom right.

What's requiring .net 3.5 to be installed?

And TrustMe, has it right; however if those boxes are already checked, than nothing needs to be done, and 3.5 is already installed...

Little bit of basic info, please. What version of Windows are you on?

Hold the Windows Key and press R. Type winver and press enter. Either post the screen shot of the display, or type what it says. (screenshot is preferable)

    Thanks.

I'm not sure the Windows version matters here since all versions of Windows use .net framework. Doesn't hurt to have all the info though.

The bigger question is why the need to install .net 3.5? What's asking for it?

Some earlier versions (10586 at times) had issues with installing .net 3.5 until a cumulative fixed the problem. That's why the inquiry as to the version, and level. It does matter.

    Fair enough.

However I still reference post #3 where .net 3.5 and 4.7 are installed by default on Windows 10 and turned on; thus the reason you can't install them, But...

All that has been posted is true if that is the OP's current state. We don't know that. It would seem odd that he would try to install something that is already installed. But, again, we don't know that. We don't know what his first attempt was, we don't know what his Features page looks like, we don't know what version he's running.....all we have is his first post from 9 hours ago, and no follow up. Without some more info and facts, we are all just speculating.

We need a response from the OP.........
