I opened the Win 10 Store "Video Editor" app the other day and although it's basic, it does seem to have more functionality than I expected.
It seems to be a subset of functionality in the Photos app. I will give it a go next time I feel the need to create a video...

Actually if you have a backup of your previous Windows 10 or etc you could move all the files associated with Movie Maker or whatever program/app into their correct spots and it will run like it was always their to begin with.

Could anybody list any applications that was removed when updating Windows 10 ??? So far I spotted

    Movie Maker
    Daemon Tools Lite

That both became missing. I mean WTF I update Win 10 and poof poof poof programs vanishes.

That hardly ever works. Most programs need not only their files but also all their associated registry entries moved to the new system. Without those they generally cannot run. You need to run their installer to set them up properly.

Movie Maker was a part of the Windows OS in the Media Centre editions of Windows 7/8 along with the DVD Maker and Media Player's ability to play video DVDs. These were all removed in Windows 10. Microsoft did list that and other changes in the specification for Windows 10. You can to install 3rd-party apps to replace them, such as DVD Styler and VLC to play DVDs.

The following changes impact devices that are upgrading to Windows 10 from Windows 7, Windows 8 or Windows 8.1:

    • Windows Media Centre: If you have Windows 7 Home Premium, Windows 7 Professional, Windows 7 Ultimate, Windows 8 Pro with Media Centre or Windows 8.1 Pro with Media Centre and you install Windows 10, Windows Media Centre will be removed.
    • Mobile Device Management (MDM): MDM functionality will not be available in Windows 10 Home edition.
    • Windows 7 desktop gadgets: These will be removed as part of installing Windows 10.
    • Solitaire, Minesweeper and Hearts Games: These games that came pre-installed on Windows 7 will be removed as part of installing the Windows 10 upgrade. Microsoft has released our version of Solitaire and Minesweeper called the "Microsoft Solitaire Collection" and "Microsoft Minesweeper".
    • Floppy drives: If you have a floppy drive, you will need to download the latest driver from Windows Update or from the manufacturer’s website.
    • If you have Windows Live Essentials installed on your system, the OneDrive application is removed and replaced with the inbox version of OneDrive.
    • OneDrive place holder files: OneDrive placeholder files are not supported in Windows 10. Windows 8.1 displayed placeholders for files available in OneDrive but not locally on the device. In Windows 10, users can choose which folders to sync from OneDrive settings.

3rd-party apps like an old version of Daemon Tools Lite would have been removed if they were incompatible with Windows 10. You should have been shown a list of any such programs and offered the chance to chance to cancel the upgrade, or remove them and conntinue. Generally such old incompatible programs have a newer version that is compatible. That is the case with Daemon Tools Lite, get the latest version here.

Windows 10 compatibility ....Your current DAEMON Tools version does not support OS Windows 10.
