As someone noted is it actually "Outlook.com" (Hotmail) that is the problem?
As someone noted is it actually "Outlook.com" (Hotmail) that is the problem?
I never installed Office, it came with the laptop when I bought it, I left it sit there never using it so I finally uninstalled it a few months ago.
When I was selling my 2 cars 3 years ago I created 2 email accts, Hotmail & Yahoo just to keep the car's separate. I bookmarked the Hotmail Acct and when I click on that bookmark now it takes me to Outlook, don't know if that helps any I just thought I'd throw that in there. I just don't like it, I don't like the fact that the 2 Outlook & Windows 10 have to have the same password, why didn't this happen last July when I got Windows 10? No it happened this past May when I got updates that I don't even want.
I have another problem but I'll go somewhere else, don't want to confuse anyone.
Just a little note to this post. I have had one email address since 1992. It is the only email address that I have ever had, so in over two decades I have had just this one email address. With that one email address I have bought and sold about a dozen cars, about 1,000 CDs and books and I have performed all of my personal and business communications. Just because you are going to perform a new transaction does not mean that you have to create a new email address.
If you create a new email address it is your responsibility to maintain it. The world does not have an infinite amount of email addresses. There is a finite amount of email addresses. So you always have to think responsibly when ever you create a new email address.
I never installed Outlook, it takes me there when I hit the bookmark "Hotmail". I just keep getting a msg telling me Outlook needs to be updated, why update something that I don't use but was told if I didn't keep it I wouldn't be able to get updates from Microsoft, not sure how true that is, but I'm certain I was told that by someone from Microsoft.
I think that we are making headway. So you are checking your email with a web browser? You do not use the built in Windows 10 email app, right? Which web browser do you use? Which web site are you visiting? It sounds like you are using outlook.com as a website to check your email, correct?
1. You are using Windows 10?
2. You do not use the built in mail app?
3. Which web browser are you using?
I receive email through Windows Live Mail which I have been doing for quite a long time but it is also coming into Outlook, I'm receiving duplicates, I'll keep the outlook acct but just how do I stop it from receiving email, our main email acct is WLM. I've searched youtube for answers but everything I tried does not work, must be old postings.
If I do a reset will this solve the problem, because I had no problems till this past May when I got updates?
Open your store app and see if there are any updates available for your Windows Live Mail.
