    Windows 10 1703 Cannot uninstall Visual Studio 2015 C++ Redist x64

    Hello All,
    This all started with amd video driver issues as I could not get the install package to run fully. Ran amd's clean uninstall utiiity and reinstalled a couple times with no success. Eventually did a in place upgrade as SFC was finding errors it could not fix. After researching saw there had been problems with 1703 Creator build. I did an in place upgrade which seem to resolve almost all issues. One issue remaining VS C++ Redist 2015 x64 package I cannot reinstall setup fails saying its there. The funny part is the keys do not exist under HKRoot\Installer or under HKLM\Software\Windows\Uninstall.

    I am assuming this is causing the amdihk64.dll error I am getting. I am also wondering if this is why both gears of war 4 and resident evil 7 are both failing to run (both digital copies). SFC now comes back clean. Have not even attempted to rerun amd crimson red driver installer until I can resolve the vs c++ redist issue first.

    So good news bad news....
    Geek Uninstaller would not uninstall Visual Studio C++ 2015 redist because it doesn't see it as being there.
    This lead me on to more reading and research. It would seem and I don't know if this is a bug or by design. If Visual C++ Redist 2017 is on the box it will not let you install the x64 version of the 2015 Redist. I don't know if they share some files or like I said if its a bug. I uninstalled the 2017 redist and 2015 installed no problem.

    Eagle DDU seems to have fixed the amdihk64 error message I was getting...thank you

    Resident Evil 7 now works not sure if it is due to the cleanup of the amd drivers or if it was because of getting 2015 back on.

    Gears 4 still doesn't work....splash screen and crash...May be due to not installing an actual amd driver package. There is a part of me that is hesitant.

    Work in IT all these years and would love to see the day when video drivers do not become an issue.

    Anyone have a all around suggested version of the AMD Crimson Reds for 480's

    thanks
