OOKLA Speed Test Dumb Question
Is there any advantage to installing the Ookla Speed Test App from the Windows Store over simply running the same (if they are the same) from the https://www.speedtest.net/my-result/6167833200 link?

I know this is an old thread, but...
I've had problems with the internet slowing down to a crawl. I think this has something to do with Microsoft's update machinery.
I tested the online OOKLA and verified the speed had dropped to 3.5 Mbs on a 60Mbs line. I installed the Windows Store version and got the typical 20MBS for my 2009 laptop on 2.5ghz wifi channel.
The difference between 20Mbs and 3.53Mbs is astounding to say the least. OOKLA support is noexistent. Windows is never forthcoming. I have not pinpointed the source of the problem, but I'm thinking about installing an internet protocol analyzer. The Task Manager in Windows has no indication of a problem.
I've read some dns servers are so bad, hundreds of access times are not uncommon. I may try to determine using Wireshark, Fiddler, or PingMaster.
