Have you tried running the Office Repair function?

Control Panel app >> Programs >> Program and Features then find MS Office.

Right-click it, then select Change. Follow the on-screen instructions.

    I get this error

"To register Adodb.dll in the GAC, follow these steps:
    • Click Start and then click Run.
    • In the Run dialog box, type the following command, and then click OK: C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.0.3705\gacutil /i C:\Program Files\Microsoft.NET\Primary Interop Assemblies\adodb.dll"

Typing the first command as mentioned in the site gets me this message. What do i do now??Help with office 2016-2017-07-24_105257.jpg

If it was me having the problem, I'd be looking to reinstall the .NET framework at this stage.

I only say that since the problem seems to be related to .NET.

The problem seems to have resolved. I had installed an add-on F1000. I uninstalled it while uninstalling office so after that the error has not come back. So looks like it was that research add-on that created the issue. Thank u for the help.
