Windows 10: W.L.M.'s SNAP does not obey Global setting.

W.L.M.'s SNAP does not obey Global setting.

SNAP can be unticked in the context menu of the window title bar AND there is a global option in Settings, Multitasking, SNAP. Having turned it off globally, I find that new emails (W.L.M.) still have Snap ticked ! How to make W.L.M. 'obey' the global setting ? - I run Win10 v1703, 32bit.

    Hi Sebastian142.

As Windows Live mail support officially dropped in January of 2017 with some people not even being able to install it you could be fighting an uphill battle.

Hopefully another member will have a better answer.

    W.L.M.'s SNAP defies Global Settings

My Win10 inherited W.L.M. from Win7, and my experience of someone else's Win10 MAIL makes me in NO hurry to 'upgrade'. My only (other) complaint is that nowadays, W.L.M. frequently become 'non-responding'.

I assume you get non responding message as you connect to server. This will likely get worse as security protocols tighten.

Have you looked at Thunderbird (Mozilla). Free, functional.

    W.L.M. goes unresponding

I have discovered no trend in WLM going unresponsive - except that it happened a lot. I recently (since my post) did a repair, and am seeing if the problem returns. Yes, I have tried Thunderbird - and dumped it, because I found it less user friendly.

There are some other free mail programs. Maybe give it another shot, things are always changing.

WLM doesn't obey Global SNAP rules

I would rather solve the problem in W.L.M. than change to another email client - the issue is NOT important enough to warrant the effort involved in your suggestion.

    Hear you.

Still would be looking at other clients if only casually. MS has taken the downloads of WLM down, although people are still being very resourceful, and I'm pretty sure I read threads where you can't install in the more recent Window 10's.

If you find a solution please post, I would be interested.
