Cortana search box changed to white color

    This issue has presented on both of my Dell computers with version 15063.332. I wanted to go through the route of changing the region as has been suggested to work here. I have gone through the regions listing several times now & fail to find "Gabon." Can anyone tell me which UTC # is associated with Gabon? TIA

    EDIT: Duh! I was looking at the wrong pull down menu. Changed region to Gabon successfully & then back to US. Issue is resolved. Thanks for posting the fix in previous post. This was driving me crazy. But, it would be nice if Microsoft would explain why this is happening to some.

    The only time when mine is white is when I click on the box to type. This could be the same for you though some systems depending on the setup are different to mine.

    This just happened to my laptop on upgrading to Pro! Step 3 here fixed it for me Change Color of Cortana Search Box to White in Windows 10

    The fix I posted at 14 above works but the search box keeps reverting to white. I now just display the search icon since I use the Classic Shel search box anyway.

    I have the same issue. Not sure what causes it or fixes it. While changing the region to Gabon might solve the issue, I'm worried that doing so will alter the timezone and display an incorrect time and wrong weather data.

    Does anyone have a working fix for this now? The registry hacks no longer work after update 1803. The changing of locations is not a permanent fix as it gets reset after restart. Changing the app mode color is not really a fix either as it changes some window backgrounds to black (which is unsightly). Does anyone have a solution for changing the Task Bar Search/Cortana Box back to its original color? Having it white all the time is messing with the user experience as I'm thinking it's active all the time.

    I just set it to show the Cortana icon - or you can use small icons on the Taskbar to hide the search box. This is yet another bug MS has no interest in fixing.
