    I need a photo to line-drawing converter

    I need a program that will convert photos to unshaded line drawings--like mechanical drawings, not pseudo art. Kodak Easy-Share did that, but does not run under Windows 10. Any suggestions (preferably cheap)?

    Hi there

    @Newmaven

    would something like GIMP work for you -- and use one of the various modes to get into black / white lines. You need to do a bit of experimenting as there's loads of options --this program is almost as good as PHOTOSHOP and considerably cheaper (i.e FREE). !!!! Runs on Linux as well.

    How to Convert Photographs to Line Drawings With GIMP | Chron.com

    I've used it when I couldn't get Photoshop to activate properly while doing various Windows upgrades - needed to submit professional quality large prints (A3) and it did the job perfectly -- needed PRO quality -- not Instagram / mobile phone pics etc.

    BTW I Eventually got Photoshop activated OK -- any PHOTOSHOP users - if you are messing around upgrading Windows a few times you can save yourself a bit of agro by temporarily transferring license while updating your computers and then re-transferring back --no prob and automatic. You don't even have to load licence to a computer in the meantime while updating your computers as it's stored on their servers.

    Gimp screen on Linux should be similar on Windows

    Thanks.

    Will try it in a few days, once I'm past my deadlines.
