I've used Ccleaner for many years and have absolutely no complaints or issues with it. Just this year I bought the Pro version more to give Piriform some money for the years of good service than any other reason. I agree with what others have said, the Free version is all you really need. Pro's main "features" are the automatic update and browser cleaning both of which I can live without. I think it does a good job for what I need it for and its relatively light on my system and has NEVER screwed my machines up.

So, to answer your original question, Yes I think Ccleaner is worth it as far as the free version is concerned. You really don't need the Pro unless like me you just want to donate to the developers.

I would have never have bought it , ithe free version works as well as it always has. Wise has a disk cleaner that is free but you have to be very careful with it.
Adwcleaner kept finding issues with Wise on 3 PCs so I uninstalled Wise.

It does not officially support 10 and it has not been updated in 5 years.
It removes only even trace log files, which get recreated afterwards.
I'm using it for long time now, ever since W8. After a lot of file deletion and moves there's a lot of garbage left over and occasionally it removes 100s of MB. Same after new builds and Disk Cleanup.

I saw your reply and stated my experience with it. Been using it for at least 10 years now and it has NEVER screwed my machine(s) up. Frankly I thought your reply was a little over the top. Just what does Ccleaner do that makes you think its a "Texas chainsaw massacre" in a noobs hands? I've found it was and is one of the , if not THE, safest cleaners out there.

Uncleaner is not a good option. No possibility for me to select files to delete.Cleans everything or nothing (automatically delete Recycle bin and other files i want to keep).

No, it doesn't empty recycle bin but even if it did, Recycle bin is not for storage but only as a safety against accidentally deleted files. It doesn't delete any non system or user files files just some leftovers other programs including Disk cleanup miss.

So i spent some time testing ccleaner. I found that it only cleans a small amount of junk, so you need to install ccenhancer if you want the cleaning to be effective, which is a bit silly. I also found that ccleaner conflicts with steam, so i had to get rid of it. I went with wisecare instead, which seems to be a better cleaning program.
