It seems to be working now on my phone but the little circles are all blank. But if you open the app the circles next to everyone's name show whatever pictures are there.

No spoke too soon now it's not synced again. It keeps flaking in and out.

I have same problem as of lately too, even started a thread about it. I tried many things like that but it didn't help, People APP just won't sync and that's a feature I liked most.
I have a similar issue. I have a new computer with win 10 pro anniversary edition. The people app was present and opened but would not populate. So, I reset it--the uninstall button is grayed out. After the reset it will not stay open. I know we've had this issue before on various builds. When I go to the store, it tells me app is installed and gives me 'launch' icon. When I click on that it launches for a nanosecond and nothing. Help me

I'm going to reply to this thread because it comes up top of the search list and the posts at Microsoft are all locked. I seem have inadvertently solved the people app syncing problem. I have 3 Win 10 machines and none of the people apps sync'd on any of the machines even when the machine was rebuilt from scratch. All the other Microsoft apps sync'd properly: calendar, mail, Outlook 2016, To Do's, everything worked. I tried uninstalling, resetting and everything that could be done and nothing worked. So I got frustrated with Microsoft and decided to just store my contacts on google instead of outlook.com. I experimented and when connected to my google account and not my microsoft account, the sync worked fine, even across all win10 machines, IOS and Mac. I turned off the "sync contacts" option in Manage Accounts in the win 10 email app on all the machines, and used google instead. But I didn't like having my contacts on google and my calendar on microsoft so I switched back on all my machines. Lo and behold the people app started syncing properly with microsoft. There is a little "syncing contacts" message with the swirling arrows now after I make an update to a contact and that was NEVER there before. After repeated tries the people app does seem to be working properly. I suspect there was some local database corruption that was propagated to the other machines which caused none of them to sync properly. I hope someone has some time to hone this down further. Hope this helps.

    Thank you for that.

I have had similar problems with that app and mine was fixed in much the same way. Now it's all working the way it is supposed to work.

The messaging app however is useless. I have it on PC and phone but on PC you can't send messages to any of your contacts, especially if they are on phones. It just doesn't work.
